We flash for cash

…in the Flash development sense, naturally. Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, please meet the nice people of Team Cooper.

Tim Cooper

Mr Tim Cooper

Managing Director / Technical Architect

Tim’s been a professional Flash developer for nearly 10 years, and loves working with the Flash platform. His background is in e-learning, but he’s most passionate about producing attention grabbing interactive experiences like games, Facebook applications or microsites.

He describes himself as a petrol head. So much so that he has a spreadsheet of the cars he’d like to own one day. Bless him. He’s also teaching his two very small children about the joys of computer games. Only a matter of time until they’re whooping his ass on ‘Mario Kart’.

Emma Cooper

Mrs Emma Cooper

Production Manager / Digital Creative / Concept Co‐ordinator

As you can see, Emma actually wears three hats. This is less about her having a millinery obsession and more about having the skills and experience to manage all three roles. As well as designing and developing digital marketing materials, Emma looks after resourcing, coordinating training, and meetings. She also manages Team Cooper’s creative process and is damn good at generating new, random ideas for pitches or games.

Emma also likes knitting, and so The Team may be getting nice Dr. Who style scarves this Christmas.

Mr Russell Stearman

Lead Developer

Russell joined The Team as lead developer after spending a year travelling around the world. He’s worked with digital media and e-learning (coding in Director and Flash as well as doing some video production) for 6 years, having worked on various award winning software projects when he worked in London. Russ plays bass and does a bit of fencing occasionally – the one that’s like swordfighting, not the one that’s about shifting stolen goods.

Mr Kyle Rodgers

Developer

While his mates were all out drinking cider and getting ASBOs, Kyle started to dabble with Flash. Then, as 16-year-old boys do, he turned his interest to games – teaching himself ActionScript. He continued to learn both ActionScript and Flash through university, having created and published two full games (and developed a taste for cider), by the time he graduated. Kyle has been a member of Team Cooper for just over 3 years and even builds Flash games in his own time.

And should we ever fall prey to zombies, Kyle has unrivalled knowledge of zombie apocalypse survival strategy. So we can all sleep more soundly in our beds.

Mr Adam Clay

Illustrator

Adam is the first Illustrator Team Cooper have ever employed. Illustrators are a strange and different breed to Flash developers and much to the disappointment of the rest of the team Adam loves his Mac. Adam has recently become a new dad to baby Sam and, as if that’s not keeping him busy enough he plays football, he’s learning how to snowboard and say’s he once had an African drumming lesson.

Mr Matt Pearce

Junior Developer

Matt took over from previous placement student Simon in the Summer of ’11, joining The Team baby-faced and wide-eyed. Since then, not a lot has changed, apart from his knowledge of Flash and the workings of a development company. As if learning all that wasn’t enough, he can now even use a coffee machine!

During his earlier years, Matt used to make stick man animations and once made a Flash game where a guy with a jet pack shot sheep at turtles. He’s not just a computer nerd though! Since then, he has learned to play the guitar, won Bronze medal in the high jump at his school sports day and played for a 5-a-side football team called Friendship Argyle. What a nice name.

Mr John Hunter

Team Assistant

John joins the team from a background in television pre-production and drama development having recently developed an obsession with games and interactive storytelling. John once wrote and performed stand-up comedy purely to research a script about a comedian so we expect his next script to centre around an administrator for a digital agency. Who fights crime.
