Our latest game for DFDS has caused quite a stir amongst their audience, as we helped drive online engagement and bookings with this addictive conga game.
Following the success of Jack’s Epic Adventure, DFDS wanted to build on the momentum and launch another game quickly to promote exclusive special offers, increase online engagement and conversions.
This time, we took the game play into the heart of one of DFDS’s main destinations, Amsterdam.
You take control of the Captain as he navigates the markets around the canals of the Dutch Capital. The aim is to collect as many people as possible before the countdown timer runs out and the ferry leaves. To help you get a longer conga and more points, you can also pick up coins and time boosts along the way. Be careful though you need to avoid bumping into things and that includes your own conga tail!
Those who submitted their score to the leaderboard were in with a chance to win an Apple Watch and those who managed to stay in the Top 100 all received a DFDS keyring.
To encourage re-engagement with the game, players who had not played the game for a few days, received an email from the Captain himself, asking for help to round up the passengers. He also sent a message if someone dropped off the top 100, so they could claim their spot back on the leaderboard.😉
The game has been played by over 17,000 people who have played it between them over half a million times – phew!
While the Captain’s emails have worked really well to draw people back to the game with a 40% open rate and 12% CTR, ensuring that nearly 700 players were re-engaged with the game. There was also a constant battle to stay on the leaderboard with a 19% CTR from the email sent out alerting players they’d been knocked off!
